Coronavirus measures:

Specific measures Independence High School is taking to combat the spread of Coronavirus:

  • Our teachers are giving students direction concerning hand washing, sanitation and sharing of personal items.

  • Sanitation and disinfectant wipes are available in each classroom and teachers are asking students to wipe off desks and chairs each day.

  • Our staff is spraying desks and chairs each day with a sanitation/disinfectant.

  • Liquid hand sanitizer is available in each classroom so students can disinfect their hands after classroom activities or when students request it.

  • IHS custodial staff is wiping door handles, light switches and phone receivers each day.

  • Our nursery staff is diligently wiping and spraying disinfectant on exposed surfaces.

  • IHS is offering “Independent Study Courses” to those students who are too sick to attend school.

If you have questions or suggestions please feel free to contact us.  We are very concerned about the Corona Virus outbreak and are taking steps to lessen its impact on your students.

Independence High School is specifically designed for students who have difficulties in the regular high school setting. Students who attend have been referred from their home high schools by administrators who know they need a different type of learning environment in order to succeed.

IHS seeks to provide an individualized, academically challenging program for all students, which will emphasize the development of personal responsibility and promote positive growth in academics, attitudes, interpersonal relationships and values necessary in becoming productive citizens.
